Hi, Donna! Don't know how I've been missing your videos, but nice to see you. 100 items! Ha! But, I do have a practice/game that I have been doing and I love - I call it minus tens. If I'm feeling cluttered, I take 5 or 10 minutes and find 10 things to clear out. I can always find the 5 minutes -- and can definitely always find the 10 items! I made this up for my son and it helps us both reclaim some free space and lighten up.

Once I get a new external harddrive, and load my music onto it, I think I will send the CDs out the door! And some of it is music that just doesn't meet the criteria anyway (I run it through the same!): is it useful, beautiful, loved. Thanks for the inspiration to address that soon.

p.s. For clothing, I change the criteria to: do I feel beautiful, sexy or hot in it. I'm an actor, and for a long time could justify seemingly anything by thinking I might one day need it for an audition. No more. I figure if I feel beautiful, sexy, or hot, that's all I need for an audition. ;)

Hey Christine - glad you took this and ran with it! Brilliant. And well done selling so many books via amazon - I listed about 40 books a couple of years ago and sold...none! Lol. There must be something similar to Green Metropolis in the states...let's set an intention to find it!

CreateFate - lol me neither. I'm hoping to get down to 100 things across 20 categories...and that's going to be tough enough!

Sandra - I believe it - I only just listed my school books from my degree (a lot of years ago!!) I couldn't bear to let them go. That's the good thing about Green Metropolis - you only have to let them go one at a time!

my thoughts, hm ;) I should try that out when I will declutter some of my old school books from the cellar lol, I still can't get rid of them lol, can you believe?? I always think ok maybe Dominik will need it later but I think by that time the books will be already outdated haha but I'll have to do that w/ CDs there are some to which I don't listen anymore.

I just found another website called www.powells.com that took another 10 books of mine that I thought no one would want to ever buy! I was expecting to have to just donate these somewhere, but looks like I can recoup some of the costs. Thanks so much for your idea Donna! I am on a major decluttering rampage!

Thanks Donna for the idea of selling books to websites. I found one that will accept 11 of my books. I'm not getting that much for them, but it's something, and it's definitely helping me de-clutter faster! Thanks for the suggestions! I used www.cash4books.net, in case anyone is interested.

Never could I get down to 100 things... When I move into a new house I am going to work HARD not to collect... I love empty spaces!!!! DVD sales is a good idea as well..

I am in the process of doing the same thing! I've sold 70 books on Amazon and am trying to see what else I can sell. I already feel a lot lighter! I wish Green Metropolis was available in the U.S. too. We sold all our CDs by posting it on craigslist.com and selling the entire collection for a certain amount. Hope you enjoy clearing all that space! I am loving every bit of square inch I am getting back. :)
