The 100 Day Reality Challenge

Elise

Day 10, Season 1 - Does talking about negative experiences, draw them to you?

Through trying to help others, I talked about my negative struggles of the past and in doing so, drew the experience back to me. How does one help others without the loa attracting it back?

Elise, Yeah, it is funny that at my Psych-K training this weekend, my instructor (inspirational woman) talked about this. But what she said, and I realized to be sooo true, is that some people get stuck in their story, that this story usually never changes even in different circumstances, that we can only help by not getting dragged down into the cloud of negativity that surrounds them (misery loves company). She used this example: You go on a cruise with your friend, and neither of you know how to swim. Well your friend accidentally falls into the water, and starts flailing and crying out: "I'm drowning." A sympathetic person will stand there, look at the person and cry along with them feeling very bad for them that they are dying, "I feel so bad for you, you are drowning!" An empathetic person will look down and decide (even though they cannot swim) to jump in and be with that person in their sorrowful state, and they eventually drown together. A compassionate person will simply respond by throwing them a life saver.
Provide them with the tools that have worked for you, and then let them empower themselves, because then it is their strength that they depend on, not yours.
Hope this helps you!
Peace and Love,
Jennifer

Hi Elise, maybe you could help others by just focusing on how you got over them, because LOA reacts by feeling more than the actual words themeselves so maybe talking about them brought back that fear within you. So you can talk about i.e meditating to make yourself feel relaxed and confident about things. The words relaxed and confident and the feelings they provoke are much more positive and are better feeling thoughts. Sorry if i sound confusing, i will try and do a video on it, and im sure you will get a lot of help from others also, Have a great day.

Beautiful! Nice memories! I laughed out loud at the car one: "using the CLUB and installing a separate cigarette lighter plug in alarm that needed a key to deactivate. (What the hell was I thinking?)" :P Very nice. :)
