Well I started my challenge Oct 1, 2008, however shortly before starting this challenge one of my goals was to lose a total of 40lbs, well I am happy to say that I am down 25lbs so far and I see no reason why I can't continue and reach my ultimate goal.
I finally realized that small steps really do add up to huge victories, what I have done is change how I eat, not so much what I eat, for example, portion control is vital, it allows me to eat what I want in moderation, therefore I don't feel deprived. I know we all have weaknesses when it comes to food, and I enjoy all the foods I like I just have learned to eat them in smaller portions. I also added drinking milk to my diet and it helps cut the belly fat, filling my plate with at least half being vegetables or salad, drink water all day, I also drink lots of tea.
I feel so good, my clothes are all too big and I think its great, I bought a dress last year, that I had never worn, this year I decided to wear it to our X-mas party and it was too big, but I wore it anyway mainly because I had nothing else to wear. When my hisband saw me in the dress, his eyes said it all and I was very pleased, I asked if he thought the dress was too big and he said, "Yeah it is too big, but you look damn good in it, so wear it and be proud, because I will be glad to be with the girl that looks so good in that dress." Imagine my smile and my confidence throughout the night.
Now that I have lost 25lbs, I feel its time to really get me a workout regimen in place so that I make sure to keep the weight off and also to firm up. I have lots of exercise tapes and we just got the Wii Fit game so I am sure that will help as I know I will have fun doing it.
If you are on a journey to lose weight, don't give up. Find something that works for you and stick to it, that is exactly what is working for me.
