I’m calling this my “100 Day Report” because it’s been many days since my challenge ended on October 11. I did complete my challenge but I got busy, and never made it back to update. In fact, just four days after the challenge ended, I was on the West Coast visiting my friend
Cindy for two weeks. Since she and I have decided to participate once again on January 15, I thought I’d at least do an update before starting the new challenge.
My first listed intention was to follow the McKenna system for eating. I did follow the system for my 100 Days. Not 100% perfectly, but I did pretty well, I think. I did manage to complete my
90 Day Success Journal (which may be the first book of it’s type that I’ve ever completed) and I did listen to the mind programming CD and DVD. As a result, I not only have improved my relationship with food, but I also dropped 26 pounds without dieting.
I also managed to exercise 3X a week (usually more than that), most weeks. I was hindered at the very beginning of the challenge by a knee injury, but was finally able to overcome it. As a result, I had more energy and felt better. I’m sure it didn’t hurt with the weight loss either.
My third intention was to increase my knowledge and understanding of how I create my reality. I watched several DVDs, read several books and tried different exercises and techniques. The DVDs I watched were
The Teachings of Abraham Master Course Program and several of the Law of Attraction in Action series of DVDs. I enjoyed the DVDs as they left me feeling energized and uplifted.
The books (and I may be leaving something out) that I read were:
Money and the Law of Attraction and
The Law of Attraction, both by Esther and Jerry Hicks (and Abraham),
The Law of Attraction by Michael Losier, and
Feel It Real by Denise Coates.
I enjoyed both of the Abraham-Hicks books, especially Money and the Law of Attraction. I also really enjoyed Feel It Real. Both of those books left me feeling really good after reading them. I wasn’t as enamored of The Law of Attraction by Michael Losier. It’s not a bad book, but it seems like a book for people who are really new to the concepts. I didn’t feel like I took a great deal away from it.
Another intention was to increase my financial abundance. I did see more abundance come my way. Among many freebies (my airfare and two-week hotel stay for one), my checking account ended up having about $1500-$2000 more than usual by the end of the challenge. More significant to me, though, was the fact that I realized I had a financial “setpoint”. It was violated when my partners decided to give me a small raise. At first I thought, “Great! More abundance!” But a little while later, I realized I felt a bit guilty. I was working fewer hours and making more money than I ever have. (Just as I had intended some time ago). So, I examined that and I’m working on raising that “setpoint.”
As for developing a greater sense of gratitude, I feel I succeeded at that. I wrote in my gratitude journal almost every night, and also started a “Book of Positive Aspects” that is practice suggested by Abe-Hicks. I have let that slide since the challenge ended, and think it will be a good thing to start again.
My final intention to attract wonderful new friends into my life and deepen my current relationships was the intention I focused on the least. In fact, by the end of the challenge, it was almost forgotten. I didn’t yet attract any wonderful new friends, but I did deepen my current relationships. There was a great deal of healing in a relationship that had gone a bit sour. I also reconnected with a cousin I had grown up with, but hadn’t had any contact with for over 20 years. About a week into the challenge, I got a phone call that she was in town and wanted to meet me. Wow. I’m pretty satisfied with those results, even without the new friends.
All in all, I feel like my 100 Day Challenge was very successful. It made me feel more present in my day-to-day life. I do believe that I will have fewer big intentions to focus on for the next challenge. Six seemed like too many. I felt a bit scattered, and didn’t feel like I could focus on each intention as much as I would have liked. That’s one reason why the “friends” intention sort of fell by the wayside a short while into the challenge. So, I think, for the next challenge, I may try to keep it to four intentions. I look forward to embarking on this journey again.
