As my season 2 is coming to a close, I find myself naturally pondering which intentions I would like to set for season 3. And now I've had a brilliant idea float to me, quite by chance, if such a thing exists.
Basically, the other evenings my girls were playing Sleeping Lions before bedtime to get themselves feeling more relaxed, and I had the role of adjudicator -watching for who moved first And trying to trick them into moving by making them laugh/answer questions, etc....Well then, all of a sudden, one of the games became a guided visualisation meditation, with them off playing at the seaside, making sandcastles, etc and feeling happy - just to help them get the feeling of that. They really loved it.
Then, this afternoon, whilst returning from the park one of the girls started asking us about which kind of pets we would like if we could have any in the world (we are not allowed pets where we live, but they'd really like them, they even started collecting ants and wood-lice at one point!)...and everyone started describing their favourites. A puppy was the common link. So when we got home we went to the computer and each of them printed a picture of their favourite puppy - coincidentally all three picked a Jack Russell terrier (super cute!!)...then, what did they do with their pictures?...Why of course, they cerimoniously stuck them onto the fridge for everyone to see. Now I'm freaking out, because it's just like a family vision board! ...So it would be really funny if we did end up with a Jack Russell Terrier sometime in the future (of course we'd need a new and bigger and better house of our own first!)
Anyway, all this spiel has just been to explain my little idea....If they would like to do it, maybe at the beginning of my new season, my girls could each set themselves an intention for the coming month (mini season for mini persons), and they could make themselves a vision board for it, and we could do visualisation meditations for it once a week or something and see how it goes. It sounds like fun. And I am sure they will love it. I know that other people have done similar things with their kids and gotten brilliant results, but it never occured to me to give it a bit more structure and have a go with my girls. So we'll see what happens.
Has anyone else here done this? And if so, how did it go??? Please let me know.
Lots and lots of Love,
Sanya xoxox
