The 100 Day Reality Challenge

If you've visited my profile page, you know that I've written a children's book about autism. What you may not know is that I didn't write this book to "get rich".

Really. I didn't.

As a first-time author, I am doing something "unusual" in that I am donating $1 for every book sold to various autism organizations throughout the United States and Canada.

You may also be unaware of the fact that April is Autism Awareness Month. My proceeds for this month will be lovingly donated to Autism Center of Tulsa (http://www.autismtulsa.org), my local resource for all things "Autism" in the Tulsa area.

Please help me continue my crusade to raise awareness for autism in a positive manner by making a purchase today.

You may do so by clicking here. You will be directed to Amazon.com!

Om shanti!

Here are what people are saying about In My Mind: The World through the Eyes of Autism.

“Most remarkable about this book though is the story’s ultimate message to the readers, which upholds one crucial truth: We know very little about the interior worlds of other individuals, and under-serve one another by placing restrictions upon each other with limiting judgments. This applies to children and adults who are considered challenged, unusual in some way, and even those we think we know so well.

Adonya Wong’s book offers you a very positive way to promote expansive thinking, celebration of diversity, and tolerance of the unknown through your child’s personal library.”
Purple Zoe, Editor, Purple Magazine (http://purplezoe.blogspot.com/2009/02/review-in-my-mind.html)

“Though the book is meant for children, it also poignantly reaches adults, inspiring them to examine their own preconceptions about people with developmental and other disabilities. The book teaches both children and adults to see the world through the eyes of others who may be different than they are, eliciting compassion, tolerance and patience from the reader.” Holly Wall, Associate Editor, Tulsa Business Journal (http://www.tulsabusiness.com/)

“Appropriate for children and adults a like. In My Mind… is not ‘just another children’s book’ nor is it ‘yet another book about autism’. I believe this book absolutely holds a place both in the autism and special-ed classrooms and on the shelves of every school library.” MaryTara Wurmser, Parent Advocate, (Epinions.com Review: http://www.epinions.com/review/Adonya_Wong_In_My_Mind_The_World_Thr...)

Hi Aleta and Mascha!

You are both all the love and all the light! Thank you so much for your sweet words!

People think I'm crazy for writing a book and not wanting to get rich from it. But that's where they're a bit confused... I'm already rich from the experience of having my muse, my son, light up my world!

With so many books speaking of the "negative" aspects of Autism, I felt it was long time that folks started looking at the beauty of this different ability. Time for folks to shed their judgments and step into the often magical world of these amazing beings!

I look forward to getting to know you both! :)
