The other day I was at a prom photo shoot when I heard someone say to someone else 'Let it go'. Well, I laughed because isn't that the truth? Once you let go of the monkey on your back, you feel free and full of energy. How many people are holding on and festering because they believed that what was to happen was their way and only way and that isn't what the end result was? How many people are holding on to the resentment of failed relationships and friendships? How many people point fingers at others because of the problems that they endure and yet those same problems keep reoccuring? And how many people are still holding on to the anger on their financial situation due to a lost job, a bad deal or the economy. I bet it is more than you really realize and I bet that you, yourself, have something that still irks you and yet it happened quite awhile ago. LET IT GO.
I had lunch with a friend of mine who is a hypnotherapist and we talked about this very topic. I asked her what script she used the most in her sessions and she said it was the one that helped her patients to let go of the past. By letting go of the past, it is like deflating a balloon. It takes the tumor out of your core emotions and it allows you to start making healthy changes in your life instead of spending your time and energy looking over your shoulder at the shadows of the past. LET IT GO.
So how do you just forget? There isn't a 'Men in Black' device that erases your memory and those things that happened, even if very painful, happened for a reason and you aren't learning your lesson if you dwell on should've/would've/could've of it over and over. LET IT GO.
Whenever you feel yourself thinking of the issues of the past, replace it with a higher vibrational emotion or feeling. Say you got divorced and he left you without a dime in your bank account. As you look at the glorious dress that you would love to have, instead of crying a tear over it, replace that angry and sad emotion with a feeling of wealth and of love. By using positive affirmations, in time (I say 30 days at the minimum) you will start to makes huge leaps with that emotion and stop festering in the junk. Other things that work are hypnotherapy, meditation (which is self hypnotherapy) and journaling. Get it out and then bring in good. It work!!
