The 100 Day Reality Challenge

What are some tips for getting motivated to do things you don't want to do? (Schoolwork, those projects I keep putting off, cleaning, etc.)

AND

What are some tips for cheering myself up when I have bad days? (Due to depression, days when everything seems to go wrong, stress, etc.)

I need some serious help with these two topics!! Any sort of coping suggestions, book recommendations, ideas. Please and thank you! I am desperate!

I struggle with motivation too--everyday. What keeps me going is knowing that putting off all those little things will snowball into alot of things and all of those would be too much to handle all at once. I found a website with lots of articles about motivation that look interesting http://www.rockyourday.com/category/stay-focused/motivation-riffs/. I've always heard that doing those things that you don't want will get you over the hill to the next task and make you feel better.
Cheering yourself up...I usually put on fun music, maybe get out of the house and treat myself to a coffee or smoothie and sometimes drop by the puppy store to look at the little adorable puppies.

Hi Rachel,
I am an avoider also, but mysecret is....do what I dislike first......I do it first thing in the morning( wake up a little earlier and get the laundry, cleaning, chores out of the way) then i can focus on giving myself credit, for doing things! and focus on having a good day.
I also makie lists.....nice colors help me get focussed and organized.
I have struggled to keep my mood.........take the time to see the beauty in your surroundings, your world....it is change of perspective, but it helps, surround yourself with energetic, positive people...stay away from the friends who pull you down.Good luck, will chat anytime. Corinne.

Rachel,

First of all, let me introduce myself! My name is Mark and I am from Akron, OH so not too far from you. I live in L.A now but come back to OH often. First of all the fact that you are 21 years old and are on here is great for you! I wish I knew about The Law of Attraction back then. You are already way ahead of the game. I know life isn't easy! Especially in OH. But you seem to have already taken the first step which is usually the hardest. Getting into a community like this one is great for self esteem. There are some great books out there but I don't know what you have already read. So if any of these are old news I am sorry but these are the ones that have really made a difference in my life. "You Can Heal You Life" by Louise Hay! "Ask and It is Given" by Ester Hicks! and "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle. These are all good and will help you start to live in the moment. This is something I have to battle with as well but when I am successful at it my day's are more wonderful then ever imagined. I think you are off to a great start and feel free to ask or talk with me at any time. Hope some of this helped. If not no worries it was good chatting anyways. Take care and have a great week!

I like your honesty. It's true many guys out there are looking for women to make them feel like a man rather than to share a life with. But mainly when it comes to dating it is best to spend that a lone time with yourself before you enter anything.…
