Lots cooking on the BODY front today -- all milestones, though. Things that I have been waiting to come to fruition for weeks...
Today I finally say my physical therapist to get the overall program she wants me to start, which requires I devote a few hours a day to my physical well-being. This includes awareness and getting my head in the right place, which is why this 100 day challenge and the fact that we can blog is so helpful.
I also got results from a session where they put electrodes all over my lower body and had me perform motions to see if there was something blocking the pathways between what my brain tells my muscles to do and what they DO. The good news: everything is working. I now need to test the upper half of my body, and so I made that appointment today for next Monday.
My PT said I should now begin a few private sessions doing the Alenander technique and gave me a name to call. I am booked for that on Friday.
She knows knows I'm dying to MOVE, so she OK's that I can at least walk vigorously in the pool 3X a week for up to 45 minutes. In order to do that, I needed to buy a weight belt, which I went to a dive store and got... and I was able to buy a used one for 1/3 the price of new to boot. Thanking the universe for things big and small! :-D
I then got went to an hour's pilates session. My fabulous teacher is so invested in helping me rehabilitate myself that she came with me to that electrode session with me so she'd know how to modify exercises. I will see her Wednesday.
So, though I am leaving for New York for class in 8 days, I will have gotten my PT program, done pilates 3x, Alexander at least once, get my upper body electrode test and have that information completed, and hopefully will have gotten in 2 pool walks. And I will continue to do twice daily stretching and nerve flossing, and use this site and meditation to try to increase my awareness and create positive thought around such positive actions.
I did work on my paper today and I wrote my husband an e-mail this morning asking him out for a date this weekend (though with all this going on, we're keeping it simple), two other areas that I am working on. Right now, I am behind on making him dinner so gotta go!
