Only a few days ago Bruce Goldwell, author of Mastery of Abundant Living, received an email stating that US wounded Veterans were struggling with paying mortgage bills among other things. Being a Vietnam Veteran himself, Bruce can relate to how these servicemen and women are feeling as he has been through many financial struggles himself since his return from Vietnam.
When he first started writing with the belief that one day he would be a successful international author, Bruce decided early on that as he became successful he would reach out to help those in need. What better group to help then his fellow veterans.
Bruce stated, "As I read the email my heart was touched as I am sure many others have been that received this message. It goes without saying that all Veterans have put their lives on the line for our country. Those that have lost the capacity to fully function in the working force of America deserve our help especially when the whole country is suffering financially. I hope others will step up to the plate and help Veterans."
In the email that Goldwell and that many others have received, Brigadier Gen. Arthur F. "Chip" Diehl III, U.S. Air Force (Ret.) wrote:
The Coalition to Salute America's Heroes created the Wounded Troops Foreclosure Fund. The Fund is designed to help these brave soldiers save their homes during this grave crisis.
Here's why America's disabled heroes are in such dire straits:
► Nearly half (46 percent) of their spouses have quit their jobs to take care of them, according to a recent survey sponsored by the Coalition to Salute America's heroes. There goes one paycheck!
► In addition, many have lost their combat pay and other benefits, so the remaining paycheck shrinks.
► Finally, many wounded troops must wait six to nine months for their monthly disability check to start arriving.
Can you imagine how you'd pay YOUR bills under these circumstances? And can you imagine how painful, even humiliating, it would be to lose your home? That's what may happen to thousands of wounded troops (maybe even someone near you) if we don't start helping right now.

Bruce Goldwell plans to donate 50% of his profits from the sales of his books through the month of March 2009 to this cause. Mr. Goldwell has instructed his publisher to keep track of all sales from now through March 31, 2009 and to make the donation directly from royalties that he would receive before sending them out to him and his co-authors.
