I could not have asked for a better Day 13. Well then again, it would have been better if my grass was cut, but the Universe kind of took care of that too. I'm going to follow the downstream as far as that is concerned.
Day 12 ended on a positive note. My ex-boyfriend called just to chat. It was a great conversation and really solidified our new friendship. I love him so. We laughed and joked, talked about life and love, and exchanged information that was helpful for both our goals. Not once did I feel a moment of heartache. It felt joyous. It felt good like our relationship used to feel when we were truly happy with one another. He warmed my heart by telling me what he'd learned to do differently in his new attempts at relationships. We even talked about how its going to take a special people in our lives to accept our friendship, but anything is possible! Our call ended with I love yous just as it should. He truly is one of my closest friends. And just before I went to bed, Entrepreneur sent me a message saying he appreciated that I always asked about his day. It feels good to be appreciated by old and new friends.
Today, Day 13, my friend J really came through for me. It started out as a great day as for once I didnt miss the trash men because it was a holiday. AND because of the holiday, I didn't have to work. My friend J called and asked me to the movies pretty early in the morning. "I dont have any money," I replied. He told me not to worry. Then I pointed out how early it was. He suggested I come to the gym in his building. Then a lightbulb hit me, follow the downstream. Well, I'm not doing anything, I thought, and this allows me to take inspired action regarding one of my intentions. So, I went with it. J and I worked out for about an hour and a half.
After our work out, we got changed and J treated me to the movies. He'd offered to buy me a hotdog at the movies, but I told him I'd prefer popcorn. However, when we got to the movies, they were VERY short staff and thus the concession stand was not open (its a small 2 screen neighborhood theater). J had the bright idea to ask the only employee if we could bring in pizza from next door. He eagerly agreed :) So we watched a really funny movie eating pizza and chicken wings. It was awesome and I was incredibly grateful for the outing!
As we drove back to my car, J wasn't ready to go home so he suggested a visit to his alma mater which is a gorgeous campus and an award winning arboretum. I'd been saying for the longest that I wanted to spend more time with nature and today I got my wish. We took a 2 mile stroll/hike in the most beautiful setting including streams and small waterfalls. After the hike, we visited the rose garden and I looked for four leaf clovers.
When I finally got home, I was too tired to cut the grass, but in my door was a flyer for lawn care service. I'm going to give them a call in the morning.
