hello co-creators
I wish to say NAMASTE to all of you.
As you would know through my profile that i belong to India.
So I thought maybe I could share a little about the word "Namaste" which has been a great word that we use in our everyday life, here in India, through centuries.
NAMASTE is a sanskrit word which is a combination of three words NAM (pronounced as Num), AS(pronunced as Us and TE (pronounced as Tay),
NAM literally means 'to bow' or 'being humble', AS literally means 'am' or 'is' and TE means 'you'.
Together as a single word namaste simply means that 'I bow to the soul that resides in your body' and 'i humble myself before you'.
We say namaste to all elders every morning and before we go to sleep. The elders, in reply, give us blessings, literally [my mom always says; may you be peaceful, happy and successful; in that order :-) always]. We greet the visitors with a namaste and see them off with a namaste, any time of the day. (There's a hand gesture that accompanies but i'll share about that some other time, in case anyone is interested to know)
In the Indian tradition and philosophy (the HINDU philosophy) it is believed that all beings(souls) are manifestation by GOD and that all souls carry a miniature of God in them. So each time you meet anyone you express your acknowlegdement of the presence of GOD in his/her soul. Thereby, you humble your ego and bow to the presence of God in the other person.
The hindu philosophy and Buddha say, when you bow to someone you burn your ego, grudges, your excess-pride and the feeling of 'I am superior'. As buddha put it, 'to conquer the world, you must conquer yourself first'. Even the bible says "God loves the humble". 'Namaste' reminds us to stay humble and respect the other souls that resides in the body of every person and living creature in the world. As, that soul too, like the soul living in your body, is manifested by God and like every child carries the DNA of the creator (the parents), every soul carries the DNA of GOD. (that's also the philosophy behind being vegitarian in hinduism. All living beings are considered to carry a miniature of God within themselves, rest you may infer..)
In each person, good or bad, there's a presence of Godly virtues, even in the so called bad guys. There is always a potential of 'good' or virtues to be brought out in each one of us. All we need is to focus on the good that is sleeping within us. The Godly virtues of peacefulness, patience, giving, being non judgemental, being righteous, being in the 'no-ego' mindset etc, are present in all. When we keep focused on these virtues, these will awaken and overcome the vices that we have trained ourselves to carry with us so far. It is then, we will feel enlightened and inspired throughout our life journey. That said, it gives us the power to create all the beautiful things that God has sent us to create.
Lets all pray for all those who are misled by darkness, like the ones who kill people around the world through terrrorist attacks et al. Let's pray for their enlightenment. Let's all try to manifest a peaceful, healthy, happy and prosperous world.
I'd like to Quote what Mother Teresa said long time back when she was invited to join an anti-war rally; she said 'Dont invite me to any "Anti-war rally", tell me if there's a PEACE Rally and you'll find me there. Now, that's focusing on the positive.
So I say NAMASTE to all you co-creators, for manifesting beautiful lives around yourself and those around you, without disturbing or destroying others' lives.
love all
nonie
P.S. Wish me success in my 100 day challenge that begins today.
