Daily Word - Monday July 28th, 2008
Sing
My prayer is a song of praise, flowing from my heart.
Mornings when I awaken to the glad songs of birds are joyful beginnings to my days. I can awaken every day with a song of joy in my heart when I am aware of God's presence and the blessings that come from knowing this truth.
Giving voice to my joy in song gives my thoughts and words even greater energy. A song can express a deeply held desire and resonate in my heart as a prayer. Through the music of my heart, I affirm the blessings I wish to see become evident. Each heart song is a song of thanks to God for guiding, loving, and strengthening me.
"But I will sing of your might; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been a fortress for me and a refuge in the day of my distress."--Psalm 59:16
Monday ...
It is 8:23am and I have already had a full and enjoyable day! I woke up at 4:44 and gave thanks for the time of 4:44am. I enjoyed waking up at 4:44 so much, I think I'll keep the time set for that time everyday. Last night I set the clock an hour earlier than it had be set for Friday at 5:44, when my husband set the time. It didn't occur to me last night what those numbers would feel like when I looked at them. 4:44 just seems like a good time. So, it is! After beginning to count my blessings, I went in the basement office to shower and prepare for my 6am class. I love showering, I said, thank you to my shower and went on to teach the Goal Achiever class in my online office. Again giving thanks for the computer, for my virtual office and for the students that were coming to learn from me. At 7pm, I make a cup of coffee for myself and then decided to do a my podcast. A while ago spirit let me know that I needed to set my sights on gratitude first thing in the morning and do a podcast so that others could also re-calibrate their mind to the good in the universe by listening. I haven't been so diligent in doing it, althought I did start. I am forgiving of myself and after doing it today, I remember why I started. It just feels so good to be grateful!
Now I am getting ready to make breakfast for the kids. And it is 8:45am. Not bad for a day's work! The rest of my day will be spent uploading files for the students in my class and going to a Eckhart Tolle reading group. I just love Mondays!
