I can't believe that it's been almost a full month since I posted on here. Sorry about that! Thank you Cindy for kicking me in the pants to update everyone. LOL! It's been a crazy month, ups, downs, highs, lows.... I'll try to get it all down in a coherent fashion. It's been a whirlwind!
First. The Single Mom's coaching has been amazing! I've been learning alot about myself, the Law of Attraction, and so much more. I feel up beat and ready to take on the world, even during some very hard to deal with situations that have come up this month (more on that later). I can't give you too many details, because I signed a confidentiality contract, because this is going to be a book. But I tell you that it's already made a huge difference in the way I see things. My boyfriend even noticed, and commented on how his mom should start learning these things! I love him!
Second. The coach who started the single mom program, decided to start a Prosperity Class with most of the same women in the single mom program. The class is based on the book "The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity" by Catherine Ponder. It's AMAZING!! (I think that's going to be my new word of the day or maybe month. LOL!) The book and the class are all about using affirmations to change the way you look at life, to attract whatever you want. And oh my GOD is it working!!!
Which leads me to number Three. My business. When last we left you, I had just gotten the merchant account, and was waiting for the right time to quit my job. I originally wanted to quit on the first of July, but since the 4th was a holiday, and I wanted/needed that holiday pay, I decided to wait until after the 4th..... I called my boss on July 6 at 7:30 pm. Came close to chickening out! LOL! But I did it, and he seemed to take it very well.... even said "I wish I could tell you good luck, but ya know I can't". Didn't even take a full 5 minutes! I was soooooo relieved.
That night, after I talked to my boss, I sent an email to some of my customers, telling them I quit, that they could still get permits through me, and gave them my new contact information. Then the following day, I called them and a few others who I didn't email, and talked to them about it all. I got great responses! So there I was happily going along, feeling all good and fluffly inside, when the doorbell rings.
We're not very social people, so we don't get visitors. My b/f goes to answer the door, and then he calls me downstairs saying there's a man at the door for me with an envelope. Can you feel my stomache dropping?? Even now, I can still feel how I felt... I was sure it was a process server with a legal letter from my boss. Nope! It was worse......
IT WAS MY BOSS!!!
Yes, ladies and gentleman, my boss drove all the way from southern california to las vegas, just to "bring me my check & pick up his stuff". I was still in my pj's!! That's one of the advantages of working from home, right!? You don't HAVE to get dressed! LOL! So I quickly got into some clothes, and made my first BIG mistake, and let him into my house. Hindsight is 20/20, and that saying has never meant SO much to me before that day.
He came into my house, with his partner (my other sorta boss), and they chatted friendly, and gave me my check. We all started gathering up their office stuff. Everything seemed a bit uncomfortable, but fairly civil and congenial. That is until they had all their stuff. Then my ex-boss decided to threaten me with a lawsuit, in my own house! He started saying how I had signed a contract agreeing to no competition and some other buzz words that were a bunch of bull puckey. Said he had proof that I was soliciting HIS customers and that he already had sent out a cease and desist letter, but he came out here to warn me. That if I continued he'd sue me.
Of course, I started crying... I"m a girl! I can't help cryiing when I upset! Probabaly the one thing I truely hate about being a girl, I can't keep myself from crying when I'm upset. GAH! My boyfriend, the wonderful man that he is, kicked them promptly out of our house. The next day they faxed and then had a c & d letter hand delievered to us (of course we didn't answer the door, so we didn't sign for it).
To make a long story slightly less long, the letter made all sorts of bogus threats, basically trying to scare me into quiting. But what my ex-boss didn't know, is that we know a lawyer, who's willing to represent us for trade! HA! Basically, my ex-boss doesn't have a case, and even if the worst case scenario happened, he'd be much more worse off then I would be. The worst that could happen, is I get sued, he wins a multi-million dollar judgement, I file bankruptcy, have to pay him $50 bucks a month for 5 years, and then I'm done. I'm out, what ... a few hundred? Maybe a couple thousand total? But he's out tons! No matter what, he loses big time, and I can only lose a little, cuz I only HAVE a little! LOL! Anyway, that was two weeks ago that my lawyer sent a response to them, and we've heard nothing since then. So I'm thinking they backed off.
I'm staying under the radar for now, only took a couple of customers, and it's been scary and slow these couple of weeks. BUT today we just got an order that is enough to pay our bills for the next month! LOL! So, we'll be fine! The money will all be there, and life is going to be great!
So there you have it, the last month in a nutshell! LOL! I promise I'll be better at updating, I've just been a bit distracted lately, as you can understand. I have been updating my blogs pretty regularly, it's been keeping my mind off this stuff. My blogs are listed on the front page of this site, so check them out! There's more interesting things in there about this last month too! LOL!
