Profile Information

Relationship Status:
Married
About Me:
I'm mom to my one year old, non-custodial mom to my two older children (my lawyer is dealing with that), and a non-custodial step-mom to my partner's two kids. I'm awaiting a divorce, but moving on despite two years of his stonewalling.

I'm an old-fashioned home keeper, mother and wife at heart, with a dream - an *intention* - to open and run a Bed and Breakfast. I'm also very non-traditional in a lot of ways. I love to write and I'm trying to get past the block that tells me my writing is never "good enough".
Season:
Season 1
Starting Date:
May 5, 2008
Intentions & Goals:
I intend that there will be a fair settlement, in our favor, to my current legal issues. I intend that my partner and I will receive an official apology in court from the other party and that they will be ordered to cease their harassment of our family. We have never done anything to deserve this, and it must come to an end.

I intend that, despite my husband's stonewalling, my lawyer will take a positive step towards proceeding with the divorce. Why? I do not choose to be bound legally to this man any longer.

I intend that I will be awarded a substantial divorce settlement which will be paid in a lump sum of no less than $300,000.

I intend for all of my sons and my step son to be living under my roof, in the care and custody of me and my partner. They are wonderful boys, and I know that I can provide a good home for them.

I intend to find and purchase the perfect Victorian home - eight bedrooms, at least six baths, a large kitchen, with land and ample parking space, with a coach house suitable to be renovated as a small house - in the perfect place, for the perfect price. Even better if it's already established as a Bed & Breakfast.

I intend to launch and run a successful Bed and Breakfast (maybe not within 100 days, though)

I intend that my upcoming surgery in June will be successful and complication-free and that my recovery will be easy and comfortable.

I intend that my partner and I will continue to build a loving relationship built upon trust, respect and positive actions.

I intend to finish my novel manuscript.

I intend to lose the excess belly skin/fat from having my baby so that I can fit into my old clothes again.

Today

I'd love to say that everything has gone wonderfully. I CAN say that the surgery went amazingly well. I was up and out of bed the next day. For months I've been saying that there were no complications. Well, I was wrong. I'm apparently almost half blind. Isn't it funny that I could have lost about 40% of my vision and not even notice? It's amazing what your brain can compensate for.

Our court date in July went good yet bad. It was a case conference, which meant that the judge wanted both sides… Continue

I'm back

I let this slide as my surgery approached. Everything went really well. Other things in my life aren't, and I'm struggling not to focus on those. Then again, my lawyer and I seem to have a different idea about "not going so well". I guess he takes the long view.

I have to get back into doing this.

Not a great week

I don't understand. My intention is clear - slim and healthy body, flat belly, no baby belly fat .... and yet, I'm gaining weight. I find this very discouraging.

It really has not been a great week. Someone in the building has bed bugs, and so the building managers are spraying every unit. All of my laundry - bedding, clothing, towels, even curtains - must be washed, bagged and removed to a special storage locker. All of my books (I have 7 tall book cases full!) and movies (3 movie cases full!)… Continue

Thank you for the flowers

My two older children live with their father. Because I dared defy him by getting a lawyer and trying to gain custody and money, he is not allowing me to see them. (Sadly, the law says that he can do this prior to a court resolution) So the last time I held my children was last July. In the year before, he allowed me to see them 1 day in October, 3 days in December, and 2 weeks in March. Birthdays and Mother's Day are ... hard.

Yes, I have a new baby, and I know his father would never keep me a… Continue

Rubber ducky, you're the one ...

I was listening to a Sesame Street cd with my baby, and I commented to his dad that "I want to get a rubber ducky for the bathtub!" He thought I was very silly, but the idea was strong in my head. Strong desire for a rubber ducky. Must find a rubber ducky.

Then my jeans ripped (only one pair of jeans? Sigh ... only one pair that still fits after the baby ....) and I figured I should go to Value Village and find a new pair (or two) of jeans.

See? There was a difference. I desire a rubber… Continue
