I need to get back into the gym for regular serious workouts and steam treatments. I love what the gym does for my body and I can't wait to have those benefits again.

Hi Aimee well i've been trying to workout on a daily basis but it's my eating habitts that keep me from achiving my goal to lose weight i can go almost the whole day without eating and then have dinner and that's or just have one meal for the day it people keep telling that's not good and i guess i know but ....
Been having some stomach problem i guess due to that what would be your advice.
I want to also install good healthy habbits to my daughter whose 9 so any advice...

Yes Susan
Eating like that is absolutly sabotaging your weight loss.Skipping meals makes your metabolism slow down and your body store fat. They actually tell Sumo wrestlers to do this in order to gain weight as part of their training!Try to eat every 3 hours and stop 3 hours before you go to sleep at night. You will lose weight ,feel better and have much more energy. If you are working out thats even more of a reason to start eating more .Your muscles require food for energy!Hope this helps and feel free to call me or email me back. Thanks

Diary is defiantly great idea. The things I eat when are the run are Protein bars(Always check sugar and calories on these, they can be tricky)Premade protein drinks,Apple with some almonds or string chez,Turkey Sand on whole wheat,Low carb wraps with peanut butter, tuna in a tupperware or any leftovers I might have.I like taking a cooler full of stuff anytime I am out running around to make sure I always have something on hand.Oh and a great low cal dessert.
1 small sugarfree jello(cherry)
1 small sugar free pudding(Choc)
2 Tbs of whip creme
couple of fresh strawberries
Mix all together and eat.YUMMY
Only around 100 cals for whole thing!
Let me know if you have any other questions!

I so need help getting started...For years I have been unhappy with my weight and the apperance of my body and have known that I needed to do something, but I do not know how to start...I am not really into "gym type workouts" so I need to start going to the park and walking or something...I do not want to focus on my weight anymore I want to to focus on being HEALTHY...Please help, I need lots of inspiration!!!!

Hi Soraya
THanks for joining the group and making a commitment to get healthy.I agree with changing the focus because you get what you focus on and focusing on wanting to lose weight only gets you that which is the wanting of something.Being Healthy is a much better because you are being and not wanting.
I get what your saying about going to gym.I personally do at home workout programs but you can also do some sort of sport or just walking and that would be great.I do however recommend that you do some sort of resistance training because builing muscle is the most important thing to do to change your body.As we age we lose muscle and our metabilism slows, when you build muscle you can actually speed it back up!
If you ever want to talk about anything specific or need a little inspiration please feel free to call me or send me a message.

Hey Aimee! What a nice thing to do.

I am 146lbs and 5' 6. I am generally happy with my weight but I want to tone and sculpt and strengthen my body. I've begun working out five times a week. I enjoy group fitness classes- Pilates and classes that mix cardio and conditioning.

I like a lot of things about my body-my butt, shape, legs-that I don't want to really change (just firm up). I'm cool with losing a few pounds, maybe dropping a dress size but nothing drastic. I just want great muscle definition while maintaining my weight and curves. Is this possible? How important is my eating?

Thanks
Staisha

Hi Staisha
The eating part is by far the most important and the reason so many people fail at achieving their goals.Your body needs the proper fuel to operate and if your working out but not eating right you will not get what you want.
My recommendation on eating is to eat 5-6 times a day ,every 3 hours, stop 3 hours before you go to bed.Make each meal lean protein, healthy carb(veggies, fruit, whole grain),drink lots of water!
As far as the workouts its sounds like your doing good.I would say to change up what your doing every few weeks to get better results. The program I am doing switches every 30 days and incorporates weight lifting as much of the regimen. That is how you get the muscle definition.
Thanks for joining the group and hope this helps!
