http://cdbaby.com/cd/mollysonnyboy2Day 9: Today I looked at my yucky old wood floors, the first thing that catches your eye when you walk into the living room. I used my noggin and decided to call the local hardware center to find out who might be able to fix my wood floors: strip/stain etc. them.
I got a name and a number. He's said he will come today at 1pm.
Yay!

I am "so" learning the power of gratitude. I not to long ago wrote about clutter in my life, and the pure misery it was causing me. Until finally I realize that what you focus on increases, therefore…

I released some clutter (I wrote in my Blog about it) and I feel great. It seems like emotional clutter is going away with it too and I feel so much better already. I do think however that all of us…

Clutter isn't just "stuff"

I realized that I'll never have the time to do what I REALLY want to do as long as I read everything in my Inbox. So, NO MORE JOKES for me. I'm getting off the newsletters lists. etc., etc. Then, I'…

Last night I was thinking about that and up popped a pair of boots and another friend, Ed Smith who moved on in the summer of 2005, I believe, shoving them onto my feet while I was asleep saying "They have to fit! They would be perfect on her!"

Perhaps I need to make a notebook of memories with sections for each, unfortunately a three-ringed notebook with room for more.

THe mess in my room had escalated to where I could not easily get to my dresser and I was having a hard time keeping track of my clean clothes. Yesterday I bit the bullet and cleared out that end of the room, moved furniture, vacuumed, and started getting rid of clutter, putting away laundry, clean clothes, books, crafts, donations to charities and such.

Sure enough, the next thing you know I am hyperventilating and shaking and starting to panic. When this happened I would go downstairs, take a break, drink something, and calm down. Then I went back at it.

The last time I came down to recover was the scheduled end of my day up there. (If I don't schedule an end I can't even start.) As my breathing got more even and my heart slowed, I was wondering why this was all so hard, and why the emotions were so strong.

Then I realized that I was running constantly into momentos of my father who died in 2002, my mother who followed in 2004, my X-husband who died in 2005, my X-boyfriend who did not wake up Christmas morning in 2007 and one of my best friends who died of complications of bone cancer last September.

That is a lot of loss, some regret, and one LARGE pile of resistance!

So now I guess I have to figure out what to do about that!

I have to say, based on recent experience, that MOVING does wonders for clutter problems! You HAVE to get rid of stuff -- as I recently found -- you CANNOT take all that stuff with you -- I left some things behind that had previous value - for whomever wants to use them. It didn't bother me at all! It's a freeing feeling. I am going through everything - boxes, papers, files, clothes and shredding, weeding out - with goal of getting rid of a box of stuff (at least one) each time. I am giving away clothes I don't use, to make room for the new. Believe me, as you do this, your thinking DOES become clearer and you can feel good about that! I've gotten rid of a LOT of stuff already through this process, and it is great to be getting so much better organized.
It's working, and I know it's making room for new good. That goes for the car, too. Get the junk out of there so the new and better can find you!

Do you suppose that if you released enough clutter that you could be finished? Or would it entail either distancing yourself from your family or retraining it?

Because it is time for me to start working on that again!

Hi,

I joined Release the Clutter a short time ago and I am hoping to release as much clutter as possible. I am looking forward to reading comments from everyone and learning from everyone.

I have some friends visiting this weekend, and they have a little baby - the purrrrrfect occasion to sort through my old baby clothes!

Result: 1 bag for them, 1 bag for another kid in the neighbourhood, and 2 bags for the TRASH!!! (the charm of baby puke doesn't resist a few years in a closet, I guess...)

I'm so proud of myself! And I can feel how doing just this ONE thing opens the way for doing more. Go go go!

All I need to do now is invite a friend size 38 who's home just burnt down, someone who could use bags of cables, modems, old cell phones, someone else who needs tons of old books, dvd:s... And so on and so forth! I suppose you can attract this kind of people? Or perhaps just call some charity organization, actually?

But I _am_ proud!

Love & Light-ness!!

now on holiday so time to get stuck in again. Got rid of some clothing and bedding today, only a few more bags to move. It only took me a few minutes to load it in the recycler but really satisfying. The study is still cluttered but I know what I need to save and get rid of. Going to spend the weekend sorting through a massive pile of books. I intend for everything to be in it's proper place. How is everyone feeling after decluttering??? Does it feel totally positve to you or does it feel strange to let go of stuff. I have shed a few tears but feel so much better for doing it. for me it just reminded me of some very sad times but it made me move forward as well as being really addictive!!!!!!!!!!

I left on schedule for my storage unit, with a list of other things to take care of as well, but no more things to add to storage than the Christmas boxes. I thought that I should probably make room there before bringing more things.

I found emotional bombs there. Will blog. I did go to the library and checked out a discount foods store, but did not go to Target. Whatever I would have gotten there will still be there whenever I get there!

Three steps forward and one step back, I guess!

The clean laundry has returned! Time to get the sheets in order. I'm having company on Tuesday. So I have to focus on the bathroom and kitchen and bedroom. My living room is on it's own for now...LOL
