http://cdbaby.com/cd/mollysonnyboy2Day 9: Today I looked at my yucky old wood floors, the first thing that catches your eye when you walk into the living room. I used my noggin and decided to call the local hardware center to find out who might be able to fix my wood floors: strip/stain etc. them.
I got a name and a number. He's said he will come today at 1pm.
Yay!

Kelly, when I get overwhelmed, I just pick one area to tackle at a time for that day. And when I get bored, I listen to positive audio tapes while cleaning, like Abraham Hicks or any other personal development tape I have. Then, I find one area I want to work on. In the bedroom, it might be... the clothes lying around. Get them off of the dressor, chairs, bed, anywhere else they may be hanging and put them into the laundry hamper, hang them up, or fold some away. If there are too many clothes, I'll focus on one little section of the room. It helps to break things down into small tasks. Start with trying to do something in 15 minutes. A little bit every day goes a long way! Good luck!

A couple of days ago I spent a good part of my day cleaning all the floors in my new home. We had been walking around with shoes and the dirt was appearing everywhere, making the place look very dirty. As an Asian household, I have always lived with no shoes in the home, and hoped to make this new place the same, but the floors were sooooooooooo dirty!

I finally took out a vacuum, a mop, some rags, and paper towels and hand scrubbed each and every square inch of my place. Wow. It was a workout, but now I can enjoy clean floors and walk around barefoot. I love it! It feels so much cleaner and is helping me organize everything else in my space. :)

It is amazing how clutter gets in the way of good people!
We must let them go.

I started working on the space from hell this weekend. (when THIS space from hell is done, I can move to the basement to actually clean and organize hell) Slowly but surely the sense of being so overwhelmed has fallen away. I was not prepared for how emotionally exhausted I would be after day 2.

After the second day I was totally taken aback by how much my clutter said about me, my intentions and my dreams. I managed to purge a lot of stuff. I was able to let go of so many things that for some reason I had held on to but didn't need. I have to go back to work tomorrow so work on the room will slow down but it won't stop and I intend to have it completed by this time next week. Paint, floor, curtins, wall decor and furniture will all be in place.

I'm thinking of doing a video about this little adventure and sharing what I've learned this week. I'd love to hear others thoughts about the process of de-cluttering and organizing and what if anything they learned about themselves.
