Hey Jen,

Wow, Zachary is just gorgeous!!!!!! Welcome to the group.

Lucy is, what I call, a preteen She'll be 13 in January. No problems so far, and any problems that do arise I tend to look at myself to see what it is that I'm inviting in that is causing the issues, not blaming myself, but taking responsibility. HUGE difference!!!! Lucys very cool and super chilled so its normally her having to deal with my tantrums I think Bless her!!!!
Was it s conscious decision to have a baby now that your girls are grown up?? What a fantastic thing to happen for all of you! I bet the girls love him don't they???

I just watched a free video clip on the esther and jerry hicks website called the autistic revolution it is pretty amazing. It makes you look at children with autisim in another way, I never really looked at why some children are born autistic in that way before.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY GIRLS....
Jensine Comment by Jensine on May 9, 2009 at 12:00pm
Hey all,

Have decided that maybe everyone here is just fantstic parents with all the the answers that they need to raise a happy child within them already, as no one really seems to need to discuss this topic
Which is great! I guess working where I do, I'm continually seeing parents that could use this type of discussion group, but then they're not here!
To be honest, I rarely doubt my parenting abilities. As far as I'm concerned, Lucy is happy and so I must be doing ok most of the time! And even when she's not, who am I to mess with her guidance system???
Brilliant! :-)

Hope your all having fun with life and your children:-)

Its all good!

Hi Jensine, It is Autumn at the moment, a cold rainy day, it doesnt get as cold as the UK. It is about 17 degrees celsius were I am at the moment, usually we have blue skies and sunny winter days which helps but the rain has come quite abit lately. There are parts of Australia in drought , they need our rain desperately as we get heaps, we have green grass almost blinding it is that green.

We will see with the Steiner school for Georgia? Quinn definately...

Have a great easy day speak soon. xx

Hi Julie,

Sorry for the delay! I can't say I blame Georgia for wanting to go to the school that all her friends are going to.........but wow, what I wouldn't give to have gone to a steiner school!!!!! Its funny, Lucy and I have been talking alot about winning the lottery lately and what we'd do etc and I'm stunned that she would not let me pull her out of school to go travelling Even with a tutor! Crazy girl! But she loves her school I AM relieved that Lucy's in a good school, but more than anything since the whole 11+ thing with her I've learned to trust her a whole lot more. I remember on her first day she walked in with her head held high, showing not a trace of nerves. She went from a little school with less than a hundred children to this huge school with at least 1000 and no nerves. I remembered watching her and thinkin "ok, get it Jensine, you do not have to worry about this one!" So I'm a lot more chilled about everything to do with her now.
I'm in the South East, near london, about an hour away. Fairly close to Southend on Sea. Thats where Lucy's school is anyway. Thats exciting that you know someone in a band, don't recognise the name though sorry!
glad you find my musings amusing.......Lucy and I do laugh an awful lot, she's the funny one out of us, I always used to take life way too seriously, she is teaching me how not to! Slowly but surely!
Hope your having a fantastic day, is it summer where you are? Its just warming up here now and we are set for a hot summer apparently!!! Yay!

Hugs,

Hi Jensine, He is on the waiting list and I will just ring and let my self be known as to show how really really keen I am to have my son go to the school, and also manifesting. I would say he will get in though.

Victoria is south of New South Wales. Georgia my daughter wants to go the the local public high school which is a good school but I always had her on the list for steiner as well. All her friends are going to the local high school so I suppose as the year gets on I will get more clarity on on that. It is really hard to decide on schools isnt it, I got it right with the primary schools but here I am again deciding on education for our children. You must feel great knowing that Lucy is in a good school it has been great for us during the primary years.

Where are you in the UK? I have always wanted to visit the countryside in England I have a friend who lives over here but her family moved from London 5 years ago, her husband still goes back for work on and off, he is in a band not sure of the name now but his old band was OL 55. They were very popular.

Thanks for all your support and I love hearing about your days on the 3 basic groups. Very funny, comical ,it makes me laugh. It is great to have a sense of humour keeps you sane.

Have a great day. Julie

Hi Julie,

Sorry for the delay!

Loved reading about Quinn, he sounds like a child I would just love to meet some day! Very creative!

I have heard that there are a lot more steiner schools where you are than here, I think we only have one or two in the UK altogether! So what happens? Is he on a waiting list to get in? I quite like the montessori ideas too! What I'd really love is to set up my own school! I have some real great ideas of about how I would run a school! Kids would LOVE it!
I can't imagine either of your kids suffering with low confidence with such a wonderful loving mother like you, but I know what you mean, I can imagine that a steiner school would seriously nurture his creative side!!!

Bryon Bay looks absolutely beautiful! Will have to add that to my list of places to go in my life time! We have family in Australia, not sure where, I think near Victoria?? Not sure! Big place!!!!;-)

And what about your daughter, whats she like?

Hi Jensine, He's english is not as bad as his maths but it is in his story telling that he can get a little muddled. He also has short memory issues with things he learns, like he can learn something one day and get it then the next day just totally forget. He is very much a live in his mind person. He is very creative. He is great at building a rollercoaster park on a computer game, this one particular game called sim city he does so well at setting up the set, organising the jobs and industry areas, i struggle to build the city. I also try not to let him spend to much time on the computer as well.

We have two steiner schools in out area so we are lucky. I have his name down already he still has 3 years to go until high school. He actually was in a Montessori pre school which the school he is at know is based on lots of Montessori principles. But I think the Steiner high school will support him better than a public high school where he might fall through the gap and become a frustrated, low self confidence teenager.

It's great when you find fantastic schools isnt it, and the teachers are great.
Thanks for your ear and advice.

We live in a place called Byron Bay in the state of New South Wales, Australia.

Hope you and Lucy enjoy the pictures of Byron Bay there is a map in there to show you where in New South wales Byron is located. There is beautiful hinterland only 15 minutes from the beach this is where we want our hobby farm.

Thanks for listening and your advice.
Have an easy day. Julie
