By the way, I did watch the whole Kama Sutra movie and it was enjoyable to the end and albeit a rated R movie, it is non-pornographic like but rather tasteful.

This is a racy movie and I didn't yet see it completely, but I must give its honorable mention, as movie with high-vibes...
Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love (1996)

I found the below user comment useful.

Having read The Kama Sutra and having found it disappointing, I figured this late night showing couldn't be anymore disappointing than the text of the same name in translation. The subtitle, A Tale of Love, does help inform the potential viewer that this is not a hot porn flick.

The few pieces of Indian literature I have read treated love stories similarly. I was curious though, as to how the Bombay movie industry would treat this story, knowing they do no show kissing in the romantic films for domestic consumption. IMDb was the source I turned to to learn more about this film and its production. Thank you for the answers.

This movie is a fine tragedy carefully told in the context of 16th century India. It portrays a woman's plight in that time, marry or be a courtesan in a harem. By giving the women empowered roles the writers allow viewers to see that while today would would find those roles unacceptable, some women of those days could find satisfaction, if not happiness. The mistress of the courtesan school gave everyone her pupils a view of the truth and their options, even before the women were ready to see them.

The movie also contains moral lessons. Maia misuses her sexuality to her own detriment. The princess, could not buy happiness. The sculptor rejects Maia's love out of fear for loss of his independence, then gets paid back in kind.

This is a captivating story I will watch again, to catch the dialog I missed while away from the television, and I rarely watch movies twice.

I'm very interested in the Horror and Sci-Fi genre. And I also love documentaries. I rented a Documentary this weekend called 'Going to Pieces' it is the rise of slasher flicks in movies. If you are a fan of Halloween, Friday the 13th, Scream etc... It's a great documentary. As I watched it I worked on my own slasher flick. Not a typical movie that would give a normal viewer good vibes, however, this is my genre and it inspired me. It's a movie type that can be made on a lower budget and if you are interested in movie making and love horror... Well I recommend this Documentary!

I rented this recently, Slam Nation: The Sport of the Spoken Word.
It is a fabulous movie, with high vibes because of the beautiful poetry.
I will own this dvd and watch and maybe memorize/mimic some of the poetry.
more details:
The phenomenon of the poetry slam originated in Chicago in the 1980s, where young writers would perform their verses in competitive form at bars and coffeehouses before a live audience. Poets would be given three minutes to perform a piece they wrote themselves, and a panel of judges (chosen at random from the audience) would rate the poets and their delivery on a scale of one to ten. As spoken word performance gained a new popularity in the '90s, the poetry slam began to spread nationwide, and soon four-member slam teams from different cities were competing against each other around the U.S. Slam Nation: The Sport of the Spoken Word is a documentary shot at the 1996 National Poetry Slam in Portland, Oregon, in which groups of young performers from across the country compete with their streetwise, aggressively-performed verses in front of an enthusiastic audience. Director Paul Devlin, who has also directed sports programming for ESPN, focuses on the competitive nature of the performances onstage, and their more contemplative and philosophical sides offstage. One of the featured performers, Saul Williams, also starred in a dramatic feature about the poetry slam movement, Slam. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

K-Pax is the most awesome film! Got some dodgy bits but if you watch the film and then read the books it all comes together in one amazing story! Love it!

Grace is gone looks really lovely, I'll keep it on my list for now;-) Whats next for you?

I just watched Race to Witch Mountain. I was really looking forward to it as I loved the films when I was a kid and actually it didn't dissappoint. Really good and quite inspiring. There's one bit where the girl levitates stuff in the air and the human says "how do you do that?" and she says "you humans could do it too, if you started to believe how possible it was"....or words to that effect Great film. x

Jensine: K-Pax is going on my list for sure! ;)

About "Grace is Gone" I didn't see it as inspirational.. It was more like " what a shame to have wars"
It was about family and love. I enjoyed watching this movie though and the youngest girl was my favorite character.

Lookie what I found! Click on this link: Movie list-LOA

Ahh not a feel good movie then? Was it inspiring???
I also watched K-Pax this afternoon, have you seen that one??? I've seen it already but it is absolutely my all time favourite film! Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!

REALLY?! That's great! I was hoping you would like it!

I finished "Grace is Gone".. I guess it's personal, but it wasn't a feel good movie.. It was sad. It's about a father and two young daughters who lose their wife/mom in the war. They go on a road trip and have qualtity time before the father tells the girls their mom died.
