Wow! great that your daughter will be going to SA... She should definitely try to go to Cape Town - it really has everything - beauty, beaches, mountains, great lifestyle etc... Other places are interesting too, but CT is the most 'multi-dimensional'...
Started work on my new sculpture, which feels good, working every day...

Daniel that Buddha..omg. I love it.
I didn't know you were from South Africa. My daughter is planning on going there this summer with a thing called worldteach.org She would be living wth a family over there. Any advice you have for her?

This week I will start my new sculpture 'Orphic Mystery'... It is clear in my mind, and I'm very excited to finally get going. It has been about 4 months since I worked on a free-expression 'artistic' piece (as opposed to more practical items and gift while I was in SA).
I have set up my studio, and almost finished the mold of the Buddha I made... this has gone a lot faster than I thought it would.

Yes, I am from SA... and since Charlize Theron became an international star, I suppose my surname is no longer unpronounceable and strange outside of SA!

okay i added some photos of some of my work, but for some reason they won't load on this forum- they are only loading as text files? anyway- if you feel like you want to check them out, they are on the photos section on my page, and unfortunately you will have to sit through some vacation pics!! happy sunday!

Welcome Daniel. I understand your intentions and have pretty much the same ones. The motto that i am using this year is Dream Big, No excuses. I have been told for so long how much potential I have and how I never use it, well this is my year!!! Wonderful to have you on this journey with us and hopefully we can keep inspiring each other thru this. Also are you south african because your surname is a very south african one.

I'm going to get my new studio set up in the next few days... quite a lot to do, but it should be very satisfying as well. I can't wait to get working... Will post some new pictures in a moment.

HI there,

I joined today, and one of my main intentions is to work seriously on making a career out of my sculpture, as well as developing my skill... my inspirations are mainly from the Renaissance (Quattrocento), although I wouldn't want to try to just reproduce the style. I love the purity and spiritual expression of that period...
I have some of my works on my profile, although I cringe a bit at them. I feel I have grown a lot in the last months (the Buddha - which is a commission - is my latest... although unfinished in the picture)... Have clear visions of the next works...

Let me think about that, but a REIKI symbol sounds so good to have in my study....I love all of them but I think the DAI KO MYO will be great!!!
