The far far away is paper. The wishes and the brown background is oil painting. The leaves are paper, dragon fly and words. So that is an embelished celtic knot on paper and then the whole thing is aged and then I put wax on it.
Thanks for the feedback! They are 11 x 14 canvas board.

these are beautiful carrie! is that sort of a Celtic knot in the lower left hand corner? they are lovely...and nothing beats the fluidity (or aroma) of oils!! how big are they?? gorgeous!! keep going girl....

Here are a few things that I've been working on. I think for now I'm going to focus on oil painting with mixed media involved. I really love the effects and have decided that I really love oil over acrylics even if they take a short lifetime to dry!

HI there,
The description of your painting sounds great... but for some reason the image didn't load... i'll again later (I'll also try on you profile page. Your course sounds like a wonderful process of discovery and going beyond what you would normally do.
I spent the morning working on my sculpture... It's starting to take shape, but is a difficult one to work out in my head, since 50% of the sculpture is internal... so, there is an outer figure, but things are happening inside too. this means I have to work out what will be seen on the inside, as well as considering places for light to enter...
I'll take some pictures later today...

its great. are you using acrylics? and what are you using to apply it with? it looks like you are having FUN- that is all that matters. I started a fish to go along with my frog and dragonfly- hopefully i can finish it soon.

So the below is one of the excersise paintings that I did for this abstract class. He had said to go after this with red and then black but on this particular one I stopped here because it felt done. I was holding it rotated to the right 90 degrees from this but my husband scanned it this way and I kind of like it. It sort of looks like humming birds to me ;o)
Its interesting how it scanned too...it almost looks like it has pink in it but it doesnt. Just white and blue. I may add pink to it now since I like the look of it...We'll see!
How is everyones interesting projects going out there??
