The 100 Day Reality Challenge

Everyone wants to quit their job, stop punching the clock, get our from under the routine of being just over broke with slave hours for a check. But have you ever thought about the following:

1. Leaving your job in such a good place that they beg you to stay, offer you more pay and when you decline the offer, they give you an open door to return.

2. Working your best while you are there, so that you reap the same when you have employees.

3. How about the company you leave NOT being glad to see you go, but actually feeling they are loosing an asset.

4. Leaving your job and the company offers you to help you, fund your dreams, sponsor your ideas.
How about your company begging to work for you. Think about it it's not impossible if you intend it.

Plant good seed where ever you are. You will reap them in your own endeavors.

I agree with you 100%. The company I worked for was bought by a bigger computer company, famous for cutting down costs. I was let go 2 weeks ago because the customer service area, billing, sales and international services are now going to be handled by the company that bought us. The only thing that is going to remain open here is the technical support area ... and even that might close soon. I saw the pain in the management team when they had to let so many good people, including myself, go. The company went ahead and had the HR department contact another company to offer our services, provide references, schedule interviews and most of us are being hired by them. In all this process, I only have love and gratitude for my former employer. In my case, I don´t know if I´ll join this other company or not because I want to look for my dream job instead of just a job to pay the bills and the severance I am getting is enough to give me some time to look around .... though at the same time I might accept their offering as a temporary thing, while I start a business of my own. If this last option should be the one I end up chosing, I am determined to give them 110% of what I have so that when the time comes, I leave this company in the great terms I left my ex employer.

And you will be richly blessed. Thank you for sharing this. I believe your seed will come to harvest for all that you have planted.

Wow, Jayemerican!
Your post has made me clearer about the kind of job I am looking for. I too had to come across a job-loss situation. I still don't have job and I am looking. The company which let me go is going to pay good severance. My supervisor was personally very sad to see me go. He said he could hire me again, he'd hire me. While saying good-bye he insisted to carry a box for me. Since he's an elderly man, I insisted that he carry only my empty computer box. He said he had big plans for me and he also said that you're a nice guy you should get a job quickly. Thought they did not offer to get us in touch with a recruiting firm. When I look back my supervisor actually paid some fee to hire me from their contractor. ( i was working with them as a contractor). They also paid some legal expenses. He said he created that position for me, In fact, I got a title to the position of my choice! When I look at this response on this news and things that he did, I feel grateful and respected. I love that feeling. I also liked working for him. Though it was not my dream job, but it was a very good atmosphere.

I think I am going to hold only gratitude for that company and my ex-supervisor. If they called me back (which I was hoping should've happened by now), I'd be happy to join back, while looking for my dream job.
