The 100 Day Reality Challenge

This is going to be a great group.
The most important thing anyone can do is to feel good first, then eat. If you are in alignment and feeling good, you will be in tune with the cells of your body and you will know what to eat. And when you are in that place of alignment, your body will be able to pull out the nutrients and digest the food effortlessly.
If you listen to all the "experts" you would not be able to find anything to eat because "they" seem to be able to find something wrong with everything. Your body is connected to infinite wisdom and can handle anything ,if we don't get in the way!
What are you doing while you are eating? Are you focusing on the food from a place of appreciation, are you thinking about the fight you just had with someone or are you watching the news? Make eating a sacred ceremony!

Yes. very interesting and totally aligned with what i am thinking. i think this will be a great experience for us to do.
I often eat out of an emotional state of discomfort. So eating from a place of alignment is a BIG shift for me. Thanks for confirming your thoughts here.

I'd add that its not just important to feel good when eating but to do so when shopping for food too! As someone who has been an emotional eater - to mask unresolved pain - and who now is gradually losing the weight again, I've recognised how my conscious state affects my buying choices as well as how I eat. I learnt to dowse a number of years ago, using a form more akin to kinesiology so as not to attract attention as well as purely intuitively (listening to my body) and discovered a novel use for it - when walking round the aisles of the supermarket. Eccentric I know :) However, it really helps me find what my body needs. And meditating daily just helps me strengthen that intuitive state so I can slip into 'detect' mode at will. We know how emotion effects physical health so it comes as no suprise that it also effects how we metabolise and use what we eat.

Dowsing is just a way to connect to your inner knowing. I used to use dowsing and other tools for myself and in my wellness practice, but have released them all and do the most important thing that you can do. I know it's not glamorous but the most important thing you can do is pay attention to the way you feel. When you do that, your inner knowing will come forth. That's the best practice one can do because it brings the power back to where it always was...within you.
Chris is right about being in that place when you shop. Set the intention before you walk into the store that you will pay attention to what your body wants and ALLOW that to happen.

I use dowsing with a pendulum for a few things, but can't imagine how you can do a subtle variation in the supermarket.. please enlighten us...

good points!

i'm learning to be aware of my state of mind when i eat. i have turned off the tv a few times and notice a drastic difference in the experience of food - i am much more aware of the point when i'm satisfied. i think this is something i should try more often, esp since reading The Power of Now - it is wonderful to fully focus on the flavors. you know, i used to be a fast food junkie and now that i pay more attention, i've realized that a lot of that food is actually very bland....hmmm....plus my body doesn't like it. i felt so liberated when i gave myself permission to not like fast food b/c it didn't make me feel good. so i think you're right in saying feel good first b/c then you value that feeling and don't want to ruin it by doing something you really don't want to do anyway.

My breakfast and lunch are fairly healthy and balanced but dinner always throws me... i often cook for the boys and not myself and then I don't feel hungry until late in the evening, by which time its too late to cook... when i do eat dinner i often end up eating food that my body doesn't like as much as i do!!!

I need to keep track of my bodies response to foods more and then eliminating the 'bad' things.. I guess if i try to listen to my body more, it will all just fall into place more naturally... my tastes have changed a lot over the last couple of years and i eat foods now that i would never have considered before.. still a lot of room for improvement though..

I once heard the divinely inspired weight loss called a "hedonistic search for pleasure"
but really, its all about pleasuring yourself because you are connecting with your most deep desires

For example, is it really that cookie you want, or is it comfort that you want? Go for the thing that will make you feel the best. Savor your food instead of eating it while distracted. Go get that exercise which makes your body feel pumping with life.

pleasure baby!
