The 100 Day Reality Challenge

I am trying to figure out why I am attracting negative experiences; for example the other day I was verbally attacked by a strange man, I mean crazy, shouting and swearing all because of my dog's poop which I bagged and tied and put it in the gutter as there were no bins around, all perfectly legal! I tried to explain, I was a responsible dog owner, that there was no harm done but I had to walk away as my dog was in guard mode and I didn't want to risk him taking a bite.
I was mad, I started to think..what did I do to attract that...

Can we really control situations and the way other people are with us? What might I have been thinking to attract this? I am sure I hadn't been thinking negatively, I had actually been feeling very happy and joyful until that point

My work contract was cancelled and I left in bad terms with my employer...this is a negative experience I can understand as I was working there and interacting with people and did have negative thoughts about it and I was thinking I would not be working there for much longer, but I can't see how I could have affected the crazy stranger...I was just going about my business!

Is it not that he was just having a bad day and I was in the wrong place at the wrong time?....or was I meant to be there to learn some sort of lesson.

I would love some feedback on this, if anyone can help,

This is a very interesting post and something I would like to know too. If it's all about our thoughts and what we attract, then how do we explain seemingly confusing, random, negative situations we find ourselves? Did Alison attract these things and if so how? How could she have avoided this strange man yelling at her for no reason or her canceled contract? Is it karma balancing things out? I have often found myself thinking how I attracted good or bad situations that I know for a fact I did not focus on or put out into the universe purposely.
Can anyone offer an explanation of some kind?

I do understand what your saying. I believe that we can have some situations that we wouldn't want to be in but I think it's how we respond when something happens. It depends on our feelings and if we dwell on the negative feelings. It's important once we find ourselves thinking something that's not going to benefit us in the long run, we should change it to something positive at once. Think of something that will make you happy (anything). I've been doing good with this. Once you find yourself changing your attitude more, you'll find yourself experiencing more positive things in your life. Let me know if this helps you.

Hi, I was trying to figure that one out my self this morning. I had an 2 irrate people one after the other yesterday and I was in great form before I was confronted with them. I was signing away to the radio and feeling generally great, when I was calling to my local school to hand in some leaftlets. The main gate was locked or so it seemed so I proceeded to do a 3 point turn to head away and come back another day, when all of a sudden this man started coming at me by foot saying that turning on this road was highly illegal (cul de sac), and when I asked him if he knew another way of getting out he said I could have to the gate and state my business and if it was ok then he could leave me in. I stated my business and he said ok so, (this is an odrinary primary school) and said in a cross tone please do not delay in there. Then the secretary didnt react very nicely either so it left me wondering what had I done to attract this kind of behaviour. Then a saying came to mind "How other people treat me is their path. How I react is mine". Kind of good eh. Hope this helps. Susan

i think a good way of thinking about this might be to say that you were a catalyst to that other persons opportunity to learn about him or herself...oooor...the universe is presenting you with an opportunity to learn more about waht you've been thinking or how you can change what you've ben thinking, has there been a pattern of negative experiences leading up to this or was this a seemingly isolated event? you seem to not be aware of any negative thinking that wouldattract such an unpleasant expereince, which is fine, becasue you can change your thinking NOW and are in the NOW like abraham says....i mean...it doesnt matter anymore about what you WERE thinking becasue from here on out you'll probably be more aware of both negative and postiive thoughts in the future that could've attracted the man. i think the goal is not to worry about hte negative experiences,but to re-create ourselves from them!

My experience tells me that some people will be offended no matter what... you know the type they complain like it's an addiction personally I don't give them any more energy than necessary..which is .brief ...then let it go Maybe in that situation you were the blessing for that person to witness

Thanks everyone, all interesting replies. Yes I think probably the most important thing is how we handle these situations and not to dwell on it and as my friend say's, when she experiences negativity from others "thank God we're not all like that".
So I'm gathering the best thing to do is just get back to feeling good in the now, as quickly as possible.

I was having these issues as well, and then started Pre-Paving situations before I set out.
Example: Every time I get into my car I take a minute to sit in a focused state of intending what I want to happen (in a good emotional space) – I say, how much I appreciate my auto and its smooth running and reliable, how I will have loving like minded drivers on the road, I will see only good fun happenings and positive people as I do my errands and I want to be fully aware of myself and my surroundings…. Only takes a couple of minutes while the car is warming up and it started making a giant difference in my outings. I only meet fun, nice people. I don’t run into idiot drivers, I hit all green lights – cool happenings, etc…. So I know it works. If I do run into issues, I re-check my thoughts, or attitude, and come to find that I was putting out hostel, grouchy, hurried vibes. Yeap! We do create it all – I have tested time and time again, and it is 100% meeee. But you have to start by wanting to pay close attention to your own self first otherwise you will not see it or that you did come off crossways.

I don't feel as if it is 100% weee or meee in how people act and react. That's putting the whole worlds issues on YOUR shoulders and I think that is upstream thinking. I tend to agree that these things will happen as lessons on how we react and help us fine tune our emotional skills. Do we allow them to throw us off of our center. How quickly can we align back on the emotional scale and get back into the vortex etc...
