The 100 Day Reality Challenge

Iyanla Vanzant says to tell your story it may heal you and someone else in the process. Abraham of Ester Hicks says telling that hurtful story holds it in your vibration and you therefore attract more of it. So what's a girl to do? What do you think?

I see nothing wrong with telling a story that involves you being hurt in some way. #1 holding those feelings in will not allow you the advantage of releasing them and recieving healing in its place. #2 you can impact millions of lives by telling what you have overcome in your past and we all need that. For instance I am fairly new to this single mother thing so I asked other single mothers that have been there done that and aksed them how they got over the hurdles and in return that has given me the strength I needed to overcome what I did. The same goes for anything else, break ups, drug addictions, illnesses ect. To be able to talk to people that has overcome what you need to overcome is very helpful. Talking to a cancer survivor when you presently have cancer gives you hope, and so on. If you have no one to turn to what can you do, where is your hope?

Now to wallow in your hurt is to attract more no doubt. But I can speak today of my molestations that happened in my childhood without feeling any pain but at the same time my story is helping others that are listening. Keeping them bottled inside will guarantee them to come out in a way that we wish they didn't.

Hope that helps!

It does help Shayla. There is no way to avoid being hurt but how you deal with it makes all the difference. Don't stay in the hurtful place right?

I think there are benefits. Sometimes people feel stuck on something so when they share it, especially in a positive environment, people will give back positive feedback and advice. That's always a good thing! But if you tell a story about how something bad happened 10 years ago, tell it from a more positive perspective. What positive benefits have you received because of it? Does telling the story benefit you or others in some way? Just make sure your focus on the story is one that is more positive then when you experienced it in the past. Just my opinion on this.

So I say "this happened to me but because of it I can now do this or that" or "I now understand this or that because of this hurtful experience". I think I get it. Thanks.

You're welcome. Yes, exactly. :D Or you can say, "I recommend not doing that because this happened to me." Otherwise, if you tell a sad story for no reason, it becomes a pity party, you'll just feel sorry for yourself, and then it'll snowball down to depression.

But then again if you tell a sad story without any reason, maybe someone will hear your story and can help you or make you feel better about it some how. I'm no expert about this I guess. Sorry. But maybe I gave you some insight.

Thanks, your insight is appreciated. It's the whole point of me posting, to get opinions from others who are on a journey as i am, experts or not. Other people can sometimes see and understand things that maybe i just don't get, like this issue for me for example. So thanks again and again.
