The 100 Day Reality Challenge

Hi Everyone,

I'm still fairly new and learning alot of the principals.... I am a bit confused with something maybe someone can help to clarify it for me.
I been listing to some of the Abraham-Hicks publications and I'm not sure if i understand something
- So you should not fight your instincts as they are signals from your inner being, and you should not battle upstream because it creates more distance from achieving what you are trying to achieve the confusion starts with this... I am in sales which everyone keeps telling me I have to make those very hatted prospecting phone calls to potentional clients.
my question is am I just procastinating or should I be listening to those feelings of "I really don't wanna do this" lol
I am looking for direction and clarification really, any suggestions would be appreciated.

From my understanding of the Abraham-Hicks teachings you are most correct in wanting to connect with your instincts and not focus on what you don't want. I think that in your case of your sales position (and again this is strictly my opinion and interpretation) that you may want to start by focusing on your feelings and instead of focusing on not wanting to make those phone calls, start thinking about what it is that you do want and why it is that you want that or those things. Once you get in self in a happier, more positive place and focused on your wants that are to come you may find yourself no longer hating those phone calls or you may find yourself moving in a different direction in regards to your job. It's really just going to take some well deserved self exploration to see what is best for you. And of course, you should listen to your 'don't want' feelings because they are indicators that something is out of alignment and that you may have some work to do on focusing your energies. I hope that this is somewhat helpful. And just know that seeking out the information is a wonderful starting point. Best wishes to you.

Thank you so much Morg, that was my understanding too i think i need to really decide if the hatted phone calls is the best way for me to achieve the goals i'm trying to achieve or if there are better feel good ways to reach them, just have not figure those out yet.
Every course or person i speak to seems to believe that the phone calls are the best way to do it. I love what i do and don't think i want to change it but i do need to improve the way i do them.

Hi Olga,

You may have already received the responses you sought....here's some info that has helped me tremendously -- and I'll keep this simple: If you're "fighting your instincts..." (upstream) simply find a better feeling thought that results in relief. I used to be in Sales and I would visualize all my favorite customers lining up to see me and to buy from me. It all boils down to feeling good where you are now and feeling eager for what is coming. What could you love about "prospecting phone calls?" Well, it brings in all of my favorite customers and it doubles my income whenever I do it -- you get the idea, eh?! There are so many people who want to buy from you because you are a fabulous sales person! Don't let anyone tell you different. Ciao for now, Laura

That is what i hear, i just have to change my mentality because i always hate to get those calls at home i think everyone else does too, but maybe i can figure out a different way to approach it.

I think that it is not your instinct that hates the calls but your ego (as in Eckhard Tolle’s description of ego). Every non-successful call is considered a failure in the eyes of your ego. Since most calls are unsuccessful your ego starts to resist the calls.

Laura has a great point when she advises you to start pre-paving your calls by visualising them to be successful and fun. In the Abraham audio’s there are many sales persons in the hot seat asking for advice on this subject. Do you have any audio CD’s from Abraham?

I also suggest reading Eckhard Tolle’s book A new Earth or at least try to download the pod cast series of Oprah & Eckhard discussing the book.

Let me give you a few quotes from Eckhard that could also be quotes from Abraham:

“Have peace with what is - If you are at peace with what is, action will come from acceptance and not from resistance - Things are more likely to work out when you are in a harmonious state rather than in a state of resistance”

HI Emha, thank you, I only have the introduction audio from Abraham and a book that i started reading, I find there is so much to learn and so little time. I think you are right with the ego issue as well being afraid of rejection tends to stop me right on my track. I have been avoiding them all together and trying a whole lot of other options but those are really not working. I know deep down that the calls are the way to go however i felt almost like a telemarketer and completely refused to do them. I think however now from doing a whole lot of reading and listining to the Abraham introduction CD and a few other bits and pieces that I might have found a way around it.
See I do Real Estate and found the idea of calling random people completely stupid and couldn't even figure out what to say even having some sample scripts, but now I think I will do those calls but to expired and for sale by owners instead, I think the fact that they are or were recently on the market is a good indication and a good starter point for a conversation versus random calls.
I will look into the Eckhard Tolle's book as well as soon as i get through the one i'm currently reading.
I had not heard of him yet so i will look into it for sure.
