The 100 Day Reality Challenge

Hello Co-creators,

I was hoping you could help clear up some confusion of whether action is required.

In the practices section of CCOR it recommends doing "5 action steps daily to forward your goal".
Most authors of success literature (Brian Tracy being my favorite) also state that you must take three action steps (the number varies by author) daily towards the achievement of your goal.

However Abraham-Hicks, arguably the most authoritative of all LOA teachers, says that NO action is required to manifest your goals. Abraham states that working hard to achieve your goals is cross-wise to your natural current.

So whats the deal here, is action necessary or not?

And finally, what do you consider action? Is meditating daily considered an action? Do these actions have to be different each day or can they be the same i.e. continue reading book?

Thanks,
Greg

I have found that experimenting with meditation and journaling has really helped me. Abraham explains that the action required is that which is consitant with the current in your personal stream... The action, or inaction that you need to take will be appearant to you without any "work". You will know what I mean when it starts to happen for you.

I recomend trying to Meditate by closing your eyes and breathing slowly but effortlessly. When I do this, I picture myself laying on a raft in my own stream, feeling the sun on my body, and how easy it is to just float along with the current with no effort. Once you get into this visualization, when you open your eyes you will be suprised that it is not real.

After this exercise, go about your day. The point of it is that you will be opening yourself up to experiencing your own flow with everything around you throughout the day.

I hope this helps!!

Thanks for your response Brooklyn.

With regard to taking action without any "work" I assume they mean that if you do what you love, it will not feel like work.
I love the work I do, but to bring my business to the next level there are some action steps I need to take such as prospecting, selling, cold calling, pounding the pavement, etc...
Each of those action steps feel very upstream to me and I don't enjoy them at all.

I guess what I'm trying to figure out is - do I need to do these things that I don't enjoy in order to grow my business, or can I convince the universe to do these for me?

Thanks for responding Terry.

With regards to sales calls, how did you get selling to be fun or is that something you are still working on?

With regards to meditation, I do a 60 second ahhh type meditation but I'm thinking it may not be enough.
How long do you meditate for?

Thanks,
Greg

I've manifested with just intending and focusing my thoughts on something.

This is an interesting question that confused me at one point but now I have clarity about it. I was never really sure what Abraham-Hicks means by that but I will say that it isn't 100% true. If you want to manifest a beautiful sunset, position yourself, take no action and wait, but if you want success it is a different story.

Success and hard work go hand in hand- ask any successful person. Ask Oprah Winfrey if she worked hard. Ask Bill Gates. Ask Barrack Obama. The thing is that if your intention and desires are serious and heartfelt, the action will be an automatic consequence of the desire.

If the action isn't joyous and natural, maybe you should reflect and see if there is another way to accomplish the same goal without doing the things that you strongly resist. There probably is.

Join a networking group or some group designed that people generate leads for each other. That might be fun? Go to Starbucks and share what you are up to....in fact, share everywhere...."google up" your business, ask your family for leads, ask your customers for more business, talk about it....generate warm calls, be friendly, be of service....

I agree that it doesn't have to seem like work. Just starting this conversation is action, acknowledge that.

For me, fun is a state of mind and if I decide to have fun then I will.

Great questions!! I did a video recently about this subject, saying that I believe that there are lots of very small actions that move us towards our goals. I believe that actions should be inspired ones, otherwise we are just taking actions for the sake of it. It's like the saying, "Work smarter, not harder."

BUT I think that we have to take actions so the Universe sees that we are serious about our goals, so our intentions are just not "hot air." I also believe that our actions can counteract our intentions, or propell them forward exponentially.

I gave my diet as an example. I have an intention of letting go of excess weight but then eat my son's Halloween candy, so what I am saying to the Universe? Am I really serious about that goal? Now I am turning it around, choosing to take steps, such as eating green things, to show my commitment to the intention. I believe that the Universe will then take me more seriously and help me manifest this goal. Of course it will be much easier, quicker, and better than i could do on my own. That's how I believe steps work with the LOA: We take one step towards the Intention, and then the Intention (via the Universe) takes many more huge steps towards us.

Some steps are easy, like making necessary phone calls, talking to someone about our goal, organizing our life so the intention can flow in more easily, etc. They shouldn't have to be big, hard steps, leave those to the Universe. :0) I am not sure if our practices are really steps, but I think that reading the same book could be, if it has something to do with your specific intention (for instance I am reading health books).

And, lastly, I guess that our intentions and feelings will become so strong that we will just take action steps out of our excitement to see our intention become real. I think that actions just naturally come out of our physical journey, otherwise we wouldn't need bodies. I believe that actions should always be inspired though, as I've said.

I've probably got more to say, but want to leave room for other members to share!! ;)
All the best,
Clarissa K.

Hi Clarissa - surely the universe understands that you are simply eating the candy to prevent your son from getting cavities :-)

But seriously I agree with you completely.

Jim Rohn says:
"Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines, practiced every day; while failure is simply a few errors in judgment, repeated every day. It is the accumulative weight of our disciplines and our judgments that leads us to either fortune or failure. "

Great quote, Greg, i do believe in small, measured steps. It's letting go of the attatchment to the stress of the actions or the outcome of them that is the big lesson for us here at the Challenge. I am letting the Universe take charge of the results.

And YES, of course my mothering instinct tells me to protect my son from cavities, must be why I feel so strongly about the chocolate bars. ;)

I love Abraham for saying this because I'm very lazy when it's about doing not what I want but what I have to. I wonder what do you think about 'magic'. When I was younger I was into it and when years went by I can tell this is pretty much the same what Abraham teaches about. And it was black magic. There is ritual (affect your senses to believe you got what you want already), faith (even if little bit fake) and then it is said to stop thinking and wondering about that thing. The most important is feeling relief and faith in my opinion. Then everything comes naturaly when you do what is pleasant for you.

However Abraham-Hicks, arguably the most authoritative of all LOA teachers, says that NO action is required to manifest your goals. Abraham states that working hard to achieve your goals is cross-wise to your natural current.

Abraham does not say that taking action is always upstream, only if the action feels like a ‘must do’ instead of taking inspired action.
If you align with Source you get to meet the right people, you get to be in the right circumstances and you’ll be inspired to take the right action(s)

I have found that attending to my mindset is far more 'productive' than any other type of action. The only action I take at the moment is journaling in my 'book of positive aspects' which helps me be in a constant state of appreciation. Since I like scrapbooking my book of positive aspects looks more like a scrapbook than a journal, but I have fun doing it.

Life is supposed to feel good!
love, Emha
